July's Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) event in Loveland, CO not only set record numbers but it deeply touched the hearts of the public we served. 

Thanks to your incredible generosity, and donation of time and talent, we were able to treat over 1,400 patients and donate over $900,000 in dental care.  The success of our second annual COMOM is due to our incredible field of nearly 800 volunteers.   

COMOM 2008 was also fortunate to receive the attention of 4 legislators, 1 county commissioner, and several media outlets.  In addition to our local media, CBS national news (Katie Couric's evening news team) flew out from New York to cover COMOM on Thursday and Friday of the event.  This 3 minute segment, titled "The Other America," aired on July 23 and highlighted the national dental access-to-care issue, while showing footage of the Loveland event at The Ranch.  Click here to see the story!   We were also made aware that this story was broadcast over the radio during the morning rush hour in Washington DC on July 24 by the CBS Network Radio (a network with 20 million listeners).  

On another note, the CDA recovered a few instruments and items that were left behind at COMOM by volunteers.  As you're unpacking, if you find that you're missing anything from your COMOM instrument inventory, please contact Molly Pereira at the CDA, 303-740-6900 or 800-343-3010.  Likewise, if you have anything accidently in your possession that does not belong to you, please let us know as well.  

Our thanks again for your dedication and support of COMOM.  We're proud to have such an incredible volunteer base and hope that your weekend was as rewarding as ours was.
