Preventing fraud in a dental office should be a top priority. If it were to happen, do you know what’s in store for you, your practice and your staff if the case is brought to trial? Opportunity Strikes Again! is a free mock trial and seminar Oct. 10 at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (UCCS) that will show you just that and teach you the red flags to look out for if fraud is happening in your practice.

Presented by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at UCCS, the UCCS College of Business Finance and Accounting Department and the Colorado Springs Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the morning session will feature speakers involved in the fraud investigation and prosecution process. Attendees will hear from an Internal Revenue Service criminal investigator, detectives from the Colorado Springs Police Department and EPSO Economic Crime Division and other members of law enforcement, who will explain current fraud issues and what their roles are in fraud cases. The afternoon will feature the mock trial, with the Honorable David Shakes, District Court Judge, presiding.
